Southern Dialogues is a webseries asking big questions about the future coming into shape in the south today.
WHAT IS YOUR SIDE OF OUR STORY?
produced by Robert Ashton Winslow
"Sometimes in life you get a second chance. This is not one of those times. My name is Robert Ashton Winslow, and for the last two years I’ve been making this webseries ultimately about my search for our future. I believe in democracy, I believe in us if we can work together. I think political polarization is the refusal of a future together, a refusal of democracy. These documentaries are explicitly opportunities to listen when in real life conversation can feel like a non-starter. How do we support real civic dialogue in this age of political polarization and change? I spent a year on the road asking these questions about the future coming into shape, and then another year back in my hometown of Chattanooga asking about the future for the American City—field testing this same concept for civic media serving the 21st Century."
At a time of uncertainty and division, how do we come together?
What will make the difference for a better future?
